Seeing the Big Picture (Part 2) (Part 1)

The third guy is, well, purposefully passionate about the whole thing.  I am convinced he would CHOOSE to "build the cathedral" if money were no issue.  Bricklayer 3 sees the BIG picture and he OWNS it.

I have used the word OWN several times and it may need some defining:  to OWN something... to internalize and make it one's own responsibility and joy.

I apply this to my housework.  I am doing dishes. UGH.  I am making the kitchen shine.  Good for me.  I am creating a beautiful, peaceful home!    I have successfully and regularly been able to get out of the stinking thinking of "UGH dishes" to step two: "shiny kitchen", but step 3 is still beyond me.   I just can't get there although I WANT the job satisfaction for sure.

Looking again at the bricklayers.  Who is working harder? Are they not "doing" the same thing?  When I am "doing" the dishes, am I working harder if I am viewing my life with purpose or when I am sulking?   Well, it sure seems harder when I am cranky.  LOL!

Perhaps part of a strategy to being happier, more satisfied, what was that... "enthusiastic and filled with pride" ... is seeing the BIGGER PICTURE and then OWNING it.  Somewhere the clouds part and a small sunbeam peeks through.  And it feels very... Playful. (Big smile).
