BOXING: IN AND OUT OF THE RING is an investigative documentary that takes viewers inside the high-stakes business of boxing.
Beyond the bright lights of the ring, scandal has always been part of the boxing scene. From the time the mob ran the fight game in the 40s and 50s to the recent allegations that fighters' ratings can be rigged with a bribe, the business of boxing has operated in the shadows.
This troubled sport still defies efforts to reform it. While the businessmen who run boxing obey only the rules of unfettered capitalism, boxers risk their lives and their livelihoods for a shot at becoming champion of the world.
The film takes viewers inside the FBI's investigation into corruption at one of the biggest boxing organizations in the world - the International Boxing Federation, with never before seen interviews with the FBI, the prosecutors and their “mole.” Viewers also get a ringside seat at the negotiations for the most lucrative contract for a fighter in the sport's history, and witness the battle over who controls the heavyweight championship of the world and the money that goes with it.
